The Waiting Child

I saw you meet your child today
You kissed your baby joyfully
And as you walked away with her
I played pretend you'd chosen me.
I'm happy for the baby, yet
Inside I"m aching miserably
I want to plead as you go by,
``Does no-one want a child of three?"
I saw you meet your child today
In love with her before you met
And as I watched you take her out
I knew it wasn't my turn yet.
I recognize you from last year!
I knew I'd seen your face before!
But you came for a second babe.
Does no-one want a child of four?
I saw you meet your child today
But this time there was something new
A nurse came in and took MY hand
And then she gave my hand to you.
Can this be true? I'm almost eight!
And there are infants here you see?
But then you kissed me and I knew
The child you chose this time was me.

One more step

Today, we completed the fingerprinting portion of our I-800A application. Now we wait for the written clearance to arrive.............day #42 of the wait.

Jian's file "sent back"

We have been informed as of 3/11/09, "The boy for Knorr family has been sent back to C*AA". Yeah!! Stay tuned for more updates.....

Since, we recently received updated stats for Jian we measured everyone. Looks like we will have the stairstep lineup, at least for now. Now, I can start buying him a few things!!
Today, our neighbor girl came for a visit. Hannah said to her, "Do you know we are getting another kid? We are thinking of a name for him but his real name is Jian." She also prayed at dinner that Jian would come soon. (AMEN!!!!) It is always fun to hear Hannah's perspective throughout this process.

I-797C Appointment Notice

Homeland Security received our I-800A application on Thursday, February 12th. Today(day #18 of our ~70+ day wait for approval), we received our official Department of Homeland Security U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services biometrics appointment!! Yeah, we are scheduled to be fingerprinted on Thursday, March 26th(day #42). Not that I am counting or anything...... :0)
