CEO Foundation Update!

Last summer, after diligently seeking for any information about JianHui, I was led to the website of the CEO Foundation. They provide foster care in Luoyang. After scouring the files and photos of children in their foster care program I found a picture of a precious little boy. (1st picture: the boy with the basketball in the camo pants, 2nd picture: partially blocked with camo pants) This boy I believed was Jian Hui, I tried to contact them to find out for sure and have patiently waited for an answer. Truly I did not think an answer would come, however patience has paid off and YES, this momma knows her boy when she sees him!

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Knorr

We are excited every time a child in our program receives such good news of his/her impending adoption. We are most excited and thankful when we become a part of this wonderful transition and be able to help the adopted family in any way we can to make the process smooth and successful. To help answer your questions regarding Jian-hui, please refer to the following update:

Almost two years into our Family Anew program, Jian-hui progressed and blossomed beautifully under the tender-loving-care of his foster parents and teachers at school.

At home, he's called by his name, Jian-hui. With the help from his parents, Jian-hui's rehabilitation on his left foot has seen significant improvement that he is able to walk and run at ease without any discomfort; notwithstanding the less than normal/correct stride that he takes.

Jian-hui is fascinated with colours and prefers colourful things such as toys or clothing. He enjoys children’s program like the Teletubbies and cartoon characters.

Although Jian-hui is a smart little boy; he has a short attention span and therefore doesn’t pay enough attention to his teacher at school. As a result he doesn’t do as well as he could have at school. If he would have completed his homework and been more attentive in learning, he is believed to be capable of achieving much more than what he has been to date.

According to his foster parents, Jian-hui is a pleasant, smart and friendly little guy, who communicates well with everyone. He is also very responsive to others and enjoys socializing and interacting with people.

Last but not least, Jian-hui is healthy, enjoys a good appetite and sleeps well at night; basically he lives a healthy and well managed routine at this time.

We may not have all the answers that you wish to know about Jian-hui but hope the above update will help you to understand a bit more about your son, whom we are certain that you are eagerly anticipating to receive into your family.

We are indeed thrilled for Jian-hui and wholeheartedly wish your family the very best. We believe the future for Jian-hui is bright and beautiful being in the midst of your love and care.

Quote from website "Ultimately, through this program we aim to eradicate the despair that has sterotyped the lives of so many orphans and to allow them to experience Christ's Love."

We are so thankful for this incredible update and blessed that Jian Hui is healthy, loved and very well cared for!!

Is that his foster mother? What a gift, Cheri! I am so happy for you!

Short attention span? Sounds like a normal boy to me! :)

I'm sure you've read and reread the letter over and over again. I continue to be amazed and the way the Lord has had His hand on Samuel and on you guys through this whole process. Blessings to you!
